Why Would Anyone Burn Coffee Grounds In The Yard? You’ll Be Really Glad You Learnt This!

There’s one brilliant reason why you should burn coffee grounds in your yard, and that’s to get rid of mosquitoes!

Mosquitoes are such a pain aren’t they? They’re annoying in themselves when they’re buzzing around you, but it’s even worse when they bite you!

Over the years I must have spent a small fortune on mosquito repellents, with a varying degree of effect.

But now I’ve discovered a free way to get rid of the little pests!

By burning old coffee grounds!

I love a cup of coffee in the morning, so I’ve always got grounds to spare. Now I don’t throw them away, I let them dry and store them for when I want to be outside, without being bothered by mosquitoes.

They also keep away other bugs such a wasps and bees!

They really hate the smell.

It’s so simple. What I do is put my grounds in a bowl, cover with foil and leave it in a cool dark place until they are totally dry.

I then just burn them in a bowl in the yard like incense!

When it’s windy I use more than one bowl as the smell can blow away a bit, and if there’s a lot of mosquitoes, adding bay leaves to the bowl can help.

It;s such a simple solution but it really works. This could save you a lot of money if you’re a coffee drinker, and it makes your garden smell nice too!
